Angel Tree

Our Angel Tree already has quite a few donations under it.  We collect toys, treats, food and other items all season long and then donate the items to 3 different rescue groups in the area.  The groups benefiting this year are Double Dog Rescue, Hot Water Rescue and Our Companions.  If you are interested in donating items to the Angel Tree, just stop down anytime during our business hours and lets all help give some homeless pets a fun holiday.  And, of course, all of the pets on the tree are looking for loving, forever homes.



Thanksgiving Safety Tips for Pets

Pet Photos with Santa

The Big E

Rescue Dogs Need Forever Homes!

We have 2 wonderful dogs from Hot Water Rescue that are looking for their permanent loving homes.  Dixie is a pretty brindle Pitbull cross.  She is so sweet and loves everyone and all dogs.  She is almost 2 years old, spayed and up to date on all her vaccines.  Bradley is a big Pitbull/Am Staff cross. He is a 3 year old neutured male and up to date on vaccines.  He would do great in a household where he is the only dog. He loves to give big slobbery kisses and has lots of energy.  Please contact Hot Water Rescue if you are interested in giving one of these beautiful dogs a forever home.

Doggy Day Camp is in Full Swing!

Dog Carnival, July 24th!

Best Friends Pet Care & Whole Foods Market has teamed up to put on a great charity event benefiting the WWF Gulf Oil Spill Relief Fund. The event will be held on July 24th from 11am-2pm at Best Friends Pet Care (60 Harris Rd, Avon CT). We will have carnival games for dogs & humans, contests, a doggy water park, vendors, pet adoptions with local rescue groups, food, face painting, and family entertainment. In addition, our vendors will also be providing lots of great goodies to all attendees and there will be great prizes for all of our games & contests. All proceeds from carnival game tickets will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund!

We are hosting our 4th annual pet rescue event on May 22nd from 10am-3pm for 9 local rescue groups. Our main fund raiser is a tea cup auction with lots of great items from local businesses. We also have games/contests, food, D.J., pet photography, pet related vendors, search and rescue demos, canine good citizen testing, and much more. This is a free, fun outdoor event for the whole family on our property at 60 Harris Rd. Pet Hair to help in Oil cleanup

Best Friends Pet Care is joining in on helping the cleanup effort in the Gulf.  Our groomers will be collecting all the clean hair they cut off the dogs and mailing it to an organization called Matter of Trust.  They make hair mats that help clean up oil spills, like the big one in the Gulf right now.  The more dogs we groom, the more hair we can collect.  If you would like to make an appointment for your dog, call us at 860-673-0555.

Rescue Dogs from Double Dog Rescue!

Cee Cee is a pretty Boxer cross.  She is about 5 years old and loves to cuddle and get lots of attention.  She would love to be an only pet.
Roxanne is a small Rottweiler cross. She is about 9 years old and also loves to cuddle and sit in your lap.  She would make a wonderful companion. 
Snoopy is a cute Hound cross.  He is about 5 years old and very shy.  He is very cuddly and sweet.

Rescue Dogs from Double Dog Rescue!

We have a couple of dogs from Double Dog Rescue staying with us until they can find forever, loving homes.  The puppy in the upper left is Sammie and he is about 4 months old. He is actually being fostered now in Plainville. He is probably a lab/chessie cross and very playful!  Dutch is in the upper right corner. He is a Newfie/Golden cross and about 2 years old.  He is very loving and thinks he's a 50 lb. lap dog.  Buddy is probably a Boston Terrier/Boxer cross. He is in the bottom left. He is very sweet and has tons of energy. He is also about 2 years old.  And Mikey is in the bottom right. He is a lhasa/terrier cross.
